On Tuesday March 4th, 2014, the students of Cicely Tyson School of Performing and Fine Arts were given the opportunity to view the made-for-TV-movie "A Trip to Bountiful" which stared their Matriarch, Ms Cicely L. Tyson. The students were the first to see the movie as it had not yet been aired. It will have its world premiere on the Lifetime Channel on Saturday, March 8th, 2014 at 8:00 PM.

Last October (10/19/13) the students had been to see the play on broadway and had the opportunity to serenade Ms Tyson at the curtain call of her final performance. The Tyson High Concert Choir, under the direction of Ms Norma Hughes, was featured on the sound track of the television show. The audio recording took place at the high school earlier this year.

After the screening, which took place in the auditorium, Ms Tyson answered questions regarding the movie.
